Since starting NeoNurture, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on what families really need in those early days with a new baby. As a paediatric physiotherapist, my role is of course to support babies’ development — but just as importantly, it’s about supporting the parents behind them.
This is something I’ve always believed, particularly through my work on neonatal units promoting Family Integrated Care (I’ll do a blog about this soon!), but since becoming a Mum myself it’s taken on a whole new meaning.
Constant worries and questions
One thing I hear time and time again from parents (especially Mums) is just how many questions come up, and how much they worry about how their baby is developing — especially in those quieter moments like feeding in the middle of the night!
Parents often reach for their phone and reach out to google or instagram for support:
“Is it normal for my baby to make these noises?”
“My baby is making these funny movements — should I be worried?”
“How do I know if I’m doing tummy time right?”
“When should my baby start rolling or crawling?”
With so much information out there, and a lot of it not based on real evidence, it usually leaves parents feeling more unsure rather than reassured.
Through my own experience, and through the close friendships I’ve built since becoming a Mum, I’ve seen just how universal this is. Mums question everything — because they care so deeply about getting things right.
And if I’m honest… even as a physio, I still found myself Googling things too or looking for reassurance from my colleagues. When it’s your own baby, it just feels different.
Offering more accessible support
This is exactly why I’ve shaped my work in the way that I have, and put so much of a focus on parents. Alongside my 1:1 sessions and baby massage classes, I’ve put a lot of time into offering support in more informal and accessible ways — whether that’s through free events, or attending local baby groups to offer advice and reassurance.
I want parents to feel like they have somewhere to turn — somewhere they can ask questions, talk things through, and feel supported without judgement.
Introducing free 15-minute phone consultations 📞

I’m really pleased to now be offering free 15-minute phone consultations for parents.
These calls are designed to give parents the opportunity to ask questions, talk through any concerns, and receive individualised advice and support. Sometimes, a short conversation and a bit of professional reassurance is all that’s needed to help them feel more confident about their baby’s development.
How does it work?
There’s a link on my instagram and website to complete a short Google form to submit an enquiry. I will then get back to you within 24 hours to arrange a call at a time that suits you.
There’s no obligation to book in for an appointment following the call, as it’s there purely for initial support.
However if after the call, parents feel they would like more in-depth support or reassurance, they can book straight in for a 1:1 face-to-face Baby MOT assessment.
My hope is that this gives parents an alternative to searching online in those moments of uncertainty — and instead, access to tailored support from someone who understands both the professional and personal side of things.
So rather than googling “How do I help my baby roll?” or “is this normal?” – head to my website or instagram and book in for a call 🙂
